POTD: All of Me for All of Him…

If God is God, the one great thing I can do with my day surrender as it begins. Let’s pray…

I am no longer my own, but Yours.
Put me to what You will, rank me with whom You will;
Put me to doing, put me to suffering;
Let me be employed for You or laid aside for You;
Let me be exalted for You, or brought low for You;
Let me be full, let me be empty;
Let me have all things, let me have nothing;
I freely and heartily yield all things to Your pleasure and disposal.
And now, O glorious and blessed God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
You are mine, and I am Yours.

So be it.

POTD: Dancing on Dismay

A tremendous inspiration from King David. Let’s pray…

I will exalt you, O Lord,
for you lifted me out of the depths
and did not let my enemies gloat over me.
O Lord my God, I called to you for help
and you healed me.
O Lord, you brought me up from the grave;
you spared me from going down into the pit.

Sing to the Lord, you saints of his;
praise his holy name.
For his anger lasts only a moment,
but his favor lasts a lifetime;
weeping may remain for a night,
but rejoicing comes in the morning.

When I felt secure, I said,
“I will never be shaken.”
O Lord, when you favored me,
you made my mountain stand firm;
but when you hid your face,
I was dismayed.

To you, O Lord, I called;
to the Lord I cried for mercy:
“What gain is there in my destruction,
in my going down into the pit?
Will the dust praise you?
Will it proclaim your faithfulness?
Hear, O Lord, and be merciful to me;
O Lord, be my help.”

You turned my wailing into dancing;
you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,
that my heart may sing to you and not be silent.
O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever.

Psalm 30:1-12

Amen…!

POTD: When the World Seems Too Big

A prayer for when the world just seems too big. Let’s pray…

Dear God, be good to me;
Thy sea is so great,
And my boat is so small.

Amen.

POTD: Sheltering with King David

King David knew all about sheltering. Let’s pray…

One thing I ask of the Lord,
this is what I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord
and to seek Him in his temple.
For in the day of trouble
He will keep me safe in His dwelling;
He will hide me in the shelter of His tabernacle
and set me high upon a rock.
Then my head will be exalted
above the enemies who surround me;
at His tabernacle will I sacrifice with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make music to the Lord.

(Psalm 27:4–6)

Rejoice.

POTD: Need Hope, Guidance, Love?

Need (or just want) hope, guidance and love? God is so Good. Let’s pray…

Psalm 25:4-7

Show me your ways, O Lord,
teach me your paths;
guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.
Remember, O Lord, your great mercy and love,
for they are from of old.
Remember not the sins of my youth
and my rebellious ways;
according to your love remember me,
for you are good, O Lord.

Thank you, Lord, for King David.

POTD: Repenting from ‘Stuff’

Has the stuff of earth obscured the face of God? Let’s pray…

O God and Father, I repent of my sinful preoccupation with visible things.
The world has been too much with me.
Thou hast been here and I knew it not.
I have been blind to Thy Presence.
Open my eyes that I may behold Thee in and around me.
For Christ’s sake, Amen.

And Amen.

(An Apology if I Ignored You…)

Wow—I’m no blogging expert and just proved it again.

I just discovered hundreds of comments and questions stored deep in my blog site dating back to 2016, to which I hadn’t responded because I didn’t know they were there. If you contacted me or commented and haven’t heard back, HUGE apologies.

I am trying to remedy the situation (I haven’t been receiving notices when someone writes) and will hopefully find a fix soon. Meanwhile, please keep trying and know that you are not being ignored.

Blessings,
Jay

POTD: The Best Part of Waking Up…

A fantastic reminder that God is already part of your day. Let’s pray…

Psalm 30:1-5

I will exalt you, O Lord,
for you lifted me out of the depths
and did not let my enemies gloat over me.
O Lord my God, I called to you for help
and you healed me.
O Lord, you brought me up from the grave;
you spared me from going down into the pit.
Sing to the Lord, you saints of his;
praise his holy name.
For his anger lasts only a moment,
but his favor lasts a lifetime;
weeping may remain for a night,
but rejoicing comes in the morning.

Hallelujah.

POTD: There’s Rest in this Prayer

You’ve read it before, time to pray it—and rest…

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Glorious.

POTD: A Prayer to Hear God’s Voice

When you pray, listen—you may hear music. Let’s pray

Give me the spirit of the boy Samuel when he said to Thee, ‘Speak, for thy servant heareth.’ Let me hear Thee speaking in my heart. Let me get used to the sound of Thy Voice, that its tones may be familiar when the sounds of earth die away and the only sound will be the music of Thy speaking Voice.*

A-men.
