Francis Schaeffer said:

‘The Bible teaches that man is made in the image of God and therefore is unique. Remove that teaching, as humanism has done, and there is no adequate basis for treating people well.’

A friend put it another way—and it got a bit more personal:

“We’re all made in the image of God. Whenever I meet a man, it’s God asking, ‘How will you treat me?’” —Pastor Dave Sweet

God, it seems, intended the world to be a lovelier place if people just saw each other through the lens of creation—the lens of Him. And since the world doesn’t know Him, it falls to Christians to don the glasses and ask of Jesus, “Who is my neighbor?” His answer is still shattering to sinner and saint, and is recorded in Luke 10:25-37.

See ya…
