“Sometimes I want to ask God why He allows poverty, famine and injustice in the world when He could do something about it, but I’m afraid He just might ask me the same question…” —from a Pontius’ Puddle cartoon
Remember—the church is Christ’s body, and needs to think of it as such. Since His ascension, He still lives in a body on earth. It has a Spirit—His Holy Spirit. He’s the head and brains of that body, and we’re all the other parts, designed—like our own bodies—to do the work the Head demands.
God still intervenes in the messes of this messed up world—and His hands, feet, voice, generosity and compassion are poured into its darkest, desperate corners through us. Or not…
Why doesn’t God just do something?
He does. Remember what you are, and for who and Whom.
Until He comes.
