The Children’s Memorial

Ancient Hebrew has no word for History—only Memory. Today, Israel’s memory is under siege by many who wish to repeat history’s horrors under the stolid gaze of a distracted world—people to whom there is ‘one iron rule: logic is an enemy and truth is a menace’.

Yad Vashem in Jerusalem is a ‘Place and a Name’ for the millions murdered right under the nose of a disbelieving world that the stench could be real. It’s also a flashing road sign that the bridge is still out, and to ignore it will send us plummeting into another abyss.

This is the Children’s Memorial at Yad Vashem. Watch. The room is lit with just 4 candles; the names of the 1.6 million children murdered in that genuine genocide will take 25 years to recite.
